Frolicking Lop Meadows
ADOPTION POLICY:
All buyers will be held accountable for the information contained in this policy!!!!
1. Prices of rabbits will vary based on quality, type, age, color, show-ablity, legs, registration, sex and breedability.
2. Rabbits sold as “show stock” mean that they are able to be shown and have no disqualifications. Frolicking Lop Meadows does not guarantee any wins.
3. You are responsible for evaluating your new rabbit for disqualifications or other unwanted characteristics upon delivery. We will not refund or exchange rabbits for any reason, other than the health guarantee described below, after they leave our care.
4. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold any bunny. Once deposit is made the bunny will be marked as pending and will not be made available for anyone else to purchase. If You later decide after paying a deposit that you no longer want that rabbit, your deposit will be FORFEITED and will not transfer to another rabbit at any time. You are paying to reserve that specific rabbit and the deposit takes that rabbit off of the market from others.
5. Rabbits will not leave our rabbitry until paid in full.
6. We reserve the right to cancel an adoption for any reason at our sole discretion. If we choose to cancel an adoption, your deposit will be returned in full.
7. We reserve the right to refuse an adoption of any rabbit to anyone, at any time, for any reason. Must be 18 years or older or accompanied by a parent to adopt from us.
8. We do not offer refunds for rabbits returned or surrendered to us! NO exceptions!!!!
9. We will not knowingly sell a rabbit as a show rabbit with a disqualifying defect.
10. FIRST RIGHT OF REFUSAL: If you decide you no longer want the bunny and want to sell it, we need to be contacted FIRST with option to buy back (ESPECIALLY with SHOW lines or American Teddy Lops). We will be sure to specify at time of purchase if we want F.R.O.R.
11. Any rabbit adopted out as a pet or “pet quality” shall not be used in any breeding programs and will NOT be sent with any pedigree. If they are sold as pets that means they do not meet the SOP for that breed to be bred or you requested to buy as a pet only which does not include pedigrees of any kind.
12. Under NO circumstances is the suffix “Frolicking Lop Meadows” to be abbreviated, shortened, or altered in any way on any pedigree. On every pedigree the name “Frolicking Lop Meadows shall be written in full. (NO “FLM”, “Frolicking Lops”, “Frolickings” etc).
FOOD: All of my rabbits will be sent home with some transition food that has benebac powder (probiotic that helps with stress and transitioning to new home). We feed Manna Pro Gro (18% protein) formula. We do suggest buying the same feed if possible as this will cause less stress on your rabbits delicate digestive tract. If you are planning to switch your rabbit to another brand of food, use 25% new and 75% old for a few days, 50% old, 50% for a few days, and 75% new 25% for a few days.
CARE: I am always more than happy to answer any basic care questions, and am happy to provide a care sheet to anyone that requests one upon adoption of any of my rabbits. HEALTH GUARANTEE: If an animal becomes sick or dies within a 24 hour period I will replace or refund the animal at our discretion IF and only if the death is directly linked to my rabbitry, at which point, the buyer must have a signed statement by a licensed vet stating that the cause of death was directly linked to my rabbitry, otherwise the buyer will not receive a refund. I will NOT and DO NOT sell any rabbit showing outward signs of infection, sore hocks, snuffles or any other visible illness. I will perform a routine health inspection with the buyer the day we meet for you to take bunny home which will check eyes, ears, teeth, genitals, and overall condition. If a rabbit is going on transport I will do a health inspection video with the buyer before the rabbit leaves on transport this way the buyer knows what condition the rabbit leaves me in as once the rabbit is out of my hands I am no longer liable for any injuries or illnesses that could occur during transport or once that rabbit has been living with you. I handle and inspect my rabbits on a daily basis. I will not sell any animal that shows outward signs of aggression or biting. I will not be responsible in any way for injuries caused by the handling of our rabbits before or after the sale is complete. I do not sell rabbit less than 8 weeks of age. I like to give my rabbits a couple weeks after weaning to adjust. I am not responsible for injuries that occur after the rabbit leaves our hands. If I feel the rabbit was in any way neglected I will not refund or replace the animal. I give out plenty of care information at the time of adoption to where I would expect the animal will be getting fed a proper diet and taken care of. You are responsible for returning the rabbit to me, and for any veterinary bills incurred while the animal was in your possession should you decide to surrender any rabbit back to me for any reason at any time.
SEXING: I try my best to sex young juniors appropriately and correctly and this is not always easy. You are ultimately responsible to make sure the rabbit is the sex you desire and correct before finalizing the adoption. No returns for wrong sex, no exceptions!
RETURNS: I want every buyer to be happy with their adoption but please know that all adoption fees are final. If you decide that owning a rabbit is not for you I will not refund you. If you wish to surrender the bunny, I will gladly accept it back given I have the space and the animal is not showing any signs of infectious/ illness that would put the rest of my rabbitry herd in jeopardy.
SHOWING POLICY:
All rabbits offered for adoption will have the “Frolicking Lop Meadows” prefix as part of their name if they were bred in our rabbitry. All sale rabbits have already been named. Rabbits will be tattooed if given notice they will be shown-otherwise I will not tattoo but an ID number will be put on the pedigree and if you later decide to show the rabbit this is the number that must be tattooed in the ear because this is how we track rabbits in our system. Under no circumstance is it acceptable for the name of one of my rabbits to be altered (you can name the rabbit anything you wish just as long as it is not altered on the pedigree or tattoo). Any rabbit sold must retain both its original “Frolicking Lop Meadows” prefix and the exact name I provided.
STUD BREEDINGS:
In special cases where Frolicking Lop Meadows is the breeder and the owner of the buck and you ask that she be bred to a buck we own (extra stud fee will apply or pick of litter), Frolicking Lop Meadows will still be the prefix on ALL babies born. If you adopt a buck and a doe from us and these two produce litters from a breeding of your doing at a later date, this part of the policy does not apply with the offspring and the babies would then take your rabbitry name.
TRANSPORT:
It is YOUR responsibility to set up transport and make sure that the transport can pick up from our location as we are not able to travel hours to meet a transporter. Any additional travel on our end may require an additional transport fee added for gas expenses. We will not travel more than 30 minutes to meet you or anyone that is doing the transporting. Once the rabbit has left our hands and into the person providing the transport, we are no longer responsible for it. Before transportation takes place I WILL do a tele-health exam with you via zoom of nose, teeth, eyes, ears, and genitals so it is clear that before transport takes place the animal is in PERFECT health upon leaving my rabbitry. Each rabbit is given Bunnyvac the day before they leave which protects them against Pasteurella. Once given this protects them for 30 days. PICK UP: My time as well as yours, is valuable. If you are running late just let me know. I will wait 15 minutes past scheduled time and then I will leave. If I leave I will not drive back later to meet again and you will be responsible to drive the rest of the way to where I am within the same day or the deposit you paid will be forfeited. I am a very understanding person so just communicate and we will try our best to work with you!
